In the spirit of love and loving yourself… I wanted to share my experience with the viral red light therapy mask obsession I found one day while scrolling on Instagram. I’ve shared with you all I’m on a wellness journey – which include loving my skin more, too. Well, I’m here to give you a full review and breakdown of my experience using a red light face mask.
For context, I’m a 36-year-old mom of two who works full time. I’ve never had botox or even a facial or any skin treatment (if we’re being honest). Until about the last year, I didn’t give aging a second thought. But… this year I turn 37 and I’ve noticed some fine lines. I know I won’t be getting botox, so finding a holistic option is at the top of my list. I am no beauty expert, so anything I use needs to be user friendly and actually does the job. So, is the new viral skincare obsession worth the hype?
Spoiler: my red light therapy mask is one of my favorite tools in my graceful aging toolkit.

SO, what is red light therapy? Red light therapy is a non-invasive treatment using LED to mimic the wavelengths that naturally occur in sunlight. Compared to other forms of LED light therapy, red light penetrates further into the skin. As a result, it’s commonly used to treat signs of aging, including wrinkles, redness, acne, and scarring.

My skincare goals are to reduce fine lines and stimulate collagen to promote more vibrant skin – aka ‘that girl glow’! Remember, self care is self love.
There are so many red light masks on the market, but it is so important to invest in that right one. I also wanted a mask that was comfortable and one I could use while doing other tasks. And I have to say, Bon Charged checked everything on my wish list.
While others seem to be made of a more rigid material, this mask’s silicone is flexible, meaning I don’t feel that I have to stay 100% still throughout the entire 10-minute session. The Bon Charge mask has made it easy to habit stack (discount code: MARISSAMACE).
I use my mask each morning while I cook my breakfast. But there is an important reason why I can habit stack… the Bon Charge red light mask comes with silicone guards to go around your eyes that allow you to see clearly while using the mask. This is huge! You’re not stuck being still with your eyes closed.

My Results
I’ve been using the mask daily for a month now and I have to say my skin is beginning to get that glow I’ve been looking for. If you want to see results, be consistent, use it daily and be patient. I noticed brighter, tighter skin after four weeks. While you might not be able to see the tightness as well from the pictures, I can certainly feel it. Trust me, if you aren’t seeing results from your night cream or anti-aging serum, red light therapy is a solid next step.
The Verdict
Short story: it’s a yes from me. If you’re looking to treat yourself this Valentine’s Day… get yourself a red light mask! Using a red light therapy mask is a quick (and enjoyable) ritual I only need to do every other evening for results. No regrets here.
XO, Marissa
