I’m convinced 2025 is going to be the year of the sourdough. From dipping your toes into your first sourdough starter to baking a sourdough loaf a week in a beautiful Dutch oven. Which leads me to the first thing on my Caraway Christmas gift guide – the Caraway cast iron Dutch oven!

My Caraway tea kettle is so beloved. I use this daily for my coffee. I make my coffee using a French press, so boiling water is necessary each morning. It has the cutest little whistle when the water comes to a boil. The tea kettle sits right on my stovetop almost serving as a decorative piece. I have the cream color from the classic line of tea kettles. It also comes with a square pot holder!

When October hits – I enter cozy mode. Whether it’s the decor in my home or cooking my favorite comfort food, I crave for all things cozy.

That was the theme I was going for in my 2024 Halloween porch decor, but with a touch of spooky. I was inspried by the Halloween vibes I grew up with (in the 90’s!) – fun, welcoming and innocence. In my latest video, I take you step by step as we decorate my porch with old and new Halloween finds.

Don’t forget to stick around until the end… we are cooking the creamiest, most mouth watering risotto you have ever had! And just in time for dinner, we had a cozy rain storm hit which made this warm dinner dish hit the spot. This is a family favorite meal and I’m sharing the entire recipe with you!

Risotto recipe: This only takes about 20 minutes to make 🙌🏻

Ingredients:

Chicken sausage (I used organic chicken apple sausage)

2 cups Arborio rice (the kind you use for risotto!)

Drizzle of olive oil or avocado oil

4 cups chicken broth

6 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup canned full fat coconut milk

1 cup grated Parmesan

1 bag spinach

Seasonings: chili flakes, salt, pepper, dried herbs Fresh basil for serving

Cook chicken sausage in pan with oil for 8 minutes. Add Arborio rice and garlic to the pan. Add a little more olive oil and toast the rice for 1 minute. Add the chicken broth, coconut milk, and seasonings. Bring the rice to a boil and then cover and reduce to a simmer.

Cook for about 10 minutes. Add spinach and parmesan. Mix well and serve!!

Back-to-school is here, which is a time that I really lean on simple dinner recipes with Siete Foods! The Siete familia delighted me with some goodies to help make weeknight dinner recipes that much easier for me and my family.

As part of their Culinary Creators, I love creating recipes, cooking meals, and sharing what I create using their products! Here’s a family favorite in my household: Tostadas! Of course, I’m sharing the entire recipe with my blog family, too.

What you’ll need:

Siete’s Almond Flour Tortillas

Shredded chicken (you can even use rotisserie chicken)

One jar of Siete’s Red Enchilada sauce

One can of Siete’s Vegan Refried Pinto Beans

Chopped lettuce

Chopped tomato

Siete’s Botana sauce of your choice to top it all off (I used the traditional botana sauce)

To make your tostadas, place the desired amount of almond flour tortillas flat on a baking sheet and bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes or until crispy. While that bakes, shred chicken and mix your red enchilada sauce with the chicken. Heat up your pinto beans so they are spreadable. While you wait for the tortillas to turn into tostadas, chop your lettuce and tomatoes and any other garnishes you want to add. The best part about tostadas – you can customize them. Even your pickiest eaters will find a tostada they love.
